With footsteps starting in New Orleans and crisscrossing the globe ever since, Nina Lora has been continually inspired by humanity through a variety of creative outlets for most of her life, especially since moving to New York City in 1993. Having focused primarily on sculpture throughout high school and college (Pepperdine University), her two-dimensional ‘niche’ came into play in 1999 and is comprised of relatively small-scale mixed media works stemming from the visceral need to create. Nina’s unique artistic style is an expression of internal (and universal) struggles and states of mind with color schemes and messages that use a combination of ‘found object collage’, dry pastel, ink and occasional glitter.
